It is a really good movie and most of it is thanks to Cianfrance and the actors but in 2005 this would have been a solid film I saw on Saturday with my parents, enjoyed and looked on to whatever next weekend had to offer. People did the same with CHALLENGERS last year
Looking for Mr. Goodbar is sort of the yang to Annie Hall's yin in terms of depicting New York as the former showed how dark the city can be especially in the 70s. And that ending.... I still get chills from it
The pre-release hype for this was insane from what I understand. Although flawed, there is more ambition and heart put into this than 95% of summer blockbusters today
