We knew it as The Ford. Used to have to look up when walking past the now demolished high rise flats. Good sports centre and gym though. That was 1980.

Rigidity and lack of flexibility is what did for Adkins in the end and nearly sent us back to said National League. Early days and today’s poor performance was not at the level of that home game against Accrington where I don’t think I was the only one at Prenton Park in despair that evening. 3/

Barnet will cause many other sides problems this season and look like they’re on the same promotion from the National League roll we experienced. Impression of Tranmere today is that the players still don’t know each other but that three at the back which kept us up is also becoming a dogma. 2/
