#45: Shin Megami Tensei 2. This is a great follow-up to the first one. It builds on what was established but stands on its own. Things are a bit more challenging here and the story is interesting. Biggest issue is there's a lot of backtracking but overall great game.

Yeah. There was a lot of that because of rentals. I’ve only played the Japanese version so i wonder if there’s some differences in difficulty balance between the two.

That level is hard but the ice won’t break if you stay calm so there’s only one or two spots near the end that are truly unfair. It’s very easy to end up in a bad situation there though. I love this game. It’s hard but magic. Definitely worth the struggle.

#44: Silent Hill f. This game was sufficiently spooky and a lot of fun. They did a great job building the narrative through the world which leads to a great climax. Will likely revisit this sometime soon to get the other endings.

#43: Castlevania II. This was the first Castlevania I ever played. A relative had it. I was obsessed with it. It was so cool and made no sense so I wanted to figure it out. It's still super cool and doesn't make sense but now I have guides. Not the best CV but still great.

Holy Ark is near perfect. Some bugs and performance issues but otherwise amazing. No other game has the distinction of introducing Galm.

"microsoft is pulling a sega!" oh word i didnt know they were trying to escape crushing debt (partly due to interesting experiments before the market was ready) while firing on all cylinders with a host of all-time games dropping, i thought they were squandering IP and shitting the bed with AI trash

the king of all cosmos (beloved patriarch of katamari damacy, despite himself) remakes "we have no idea what you're talking about" to folks constantly trying to conflate sega & MS

don't even get me started on "xbox was the real dreamcast 2" i will flip tables
