1990 was the one that really gave me the grumpies. That's still the best A's team I've seen, and it's not close. And they absolutely folded. Outside of the walkoff win (Game 2? foul ball screwjob) they got handled.
Should do like the Giants did when they went on their run and pull EVERYONE out of mothballs. I'd go with an early franchise mainstay. Mark Langston? Mike Moore?
