I'll be marching in the No Kings protest this Saturday, which Speaker Johnson refused to call by name, instead characterizing it as "anti-America." Speaker Johnson, respectfully, I am marching because I love America and am aghast at what you guys are doing to it.

I think it's a spotted orb weaver. They're out all over the place where I live in San Diego right now. Cross orb weavers are a similar species, but I think the two dots are enough to conclude it's the spotted variety.

We got this ad in the mail today and I said the same thing to Amy. I think the independent commission is his baby and he's defensive of it, but yes, this is a temporary thing. So much of the anti-50 messaging is completely devoid of context and/or actively misleading.
