They waited way too long to give Purirun and Meroron human forms and they didn't even have them stay in those forms. Meroron's love for Purirun should've been explored so much more together with her making-friends-with-the-others arc.

Kokoro had a really good two episodes introduction but that's about it. Same with Nana. She should have a really strong bond with Uta because of what Uta did for her a few years before they met in the show.

Barely any idol activities and when there are some they are way too bound by the Precure formula. Uta's characterization had some promise here and there but now she has been put in a "suddenly remembered she's supposed to have a crush on Kaito" box.

No direction, both on the Cure side and the villains side. The idol theme is half assed—they even had their first live off screen. The main writer is the main Aikatsu writer yet there's none of Aikatsu in the show.
