October 8th is one of my favourite days because this one time on October 8th - I went to Christopher Columbus' birthplace and installed a plaque on his home, claiming the property on behalf of the Indigenous Peoples of the Americas.

They are perennials. If these are the succulent-like flowers up the street from me that end up looking like deflated garbage bags by winter. They pop up again come spring. I think the city planted them over a decade ago and they are indeed a mystery.

Had me laughing out loud.

“Reasons to seek revenge on parallel universes” by Jamie Anderson in Room 48.2
Reasons to seek revenge on parallel universes
JAMIE ANDERSON

I am always hungry I am always
eating. I spilled a can of wood stain
on my laptop, but it still works and I get high
off mahogany every time I write an email.
I unlace my blue paisley blouse, want to be
bold, want to be enveloped. Something in me
is scrambled. There's a world where l'm an athlete-
a soccer player, maybe, or a ping pong champion.
That person probably uses a keyboard protector.
On the bus today, I watched a man eat
a tub of butter pecan Häagen-Dazs
without a spoon, tongue-fucking the container,
sprawled over a seat-and-a-half. I wanted
to throw up. I wanted some ice cream.

Yes, that's awesome! It’s happened a few times in fall, no matter when the poems were accepted or the publication schedule & after slower preceding months. I guess this year too. I suddenly have about 10 pieces coming out after a smattering throughout the year. Fall magic✨🍂

Congrats! I find that happens sometimes in the fall?

Elvira share such a gem in this interview about Vincent Price and his recipe for dishwasher fish, as seen on Carson. Hilarious.
