I don't speak Japanese (or German for Rammstien, or Icelandic for Sólstafir etc) but I can make vaguely convincing mouth-sounds

Yeah that's the basic thesis of the "Forbidden Expirement." If you isolate a person: scientifically how fucked up would the be, for how long etc.

Also in fact-checking myself just now, I found out they version they did on primates was called, "the Pit of Despair" so that's fun 🙃

I think all that language needs to develop is another human. Aside from The Forbidden Expirement, I think we're as sure as can be about it.

If you've ever heard about what happened in the Nicaraguan schools for the deaf, people and especially kids are great at forming language. It's wonderful 🥰

I cannot recommend you enough to install the Wikipedia app on your devices and use it like you would any search engine. Nowadays they even have tabs so you can open many articles at once.

And, if you can, please donate to the foundation. It has survived the internet enshittification that way.

They're Alaskan Malamutes, so less criminal tendencies than huskies (tend to dig more & have higher prey drives).

But they make up for it in brute force - like taking the cast irom skillet from the kitchen and onto the bed, ripping down curtains or breaking doors off their hinges etc.

My extended PAX related absence was deeply felt at home, proved by these 2 cuties physically fighting for who got to sit on me, while I rested my pax-ed out body on the couch today 🥰

Indescribably epic weekend, and I can't wait to do it all again next year.
Maybe my feet will feel better by then.
