Autumn is the season of rereading.
I remember enjoying this first time round…
Cat with book: Sea of Tranquility by Emily St John Mandel

Rereading Frankenstein and enjoying past-me’s sarcastic abuse of the protagonist…
Page from Frankenstein in which he declines to save someone wrongly accused of murder, saying no one would believe him if he told the truth. A note in the margin reads ‘how convenient.’

This #WorldMentalHealthDay it's crucial to remember that precarious, broken, or otherwise toxic environments cause or worsen mental distress.

They also undermine our efforts to care for one-another.

Although in challenging times that's exactly what we have to do.

Can anyone recommend an academic audiobook that was well done? Looking for a good example of how to handle citations, footnotes, bibliography, etc. in audiobook format. Ideally an academic monograph. Please only recommend if you've read the audiobook and thought it was well done.

Does anyone have Donna Tartt’s The Little Friend in an edition that doesn’t have ridiculously small text, and if so, what edition do you have?

I can’t take 555 pages of this

I hope you’re able to get help soon. In the meantime it could make you feel safer to put suicide prevention hotline numbers in your phone just in case. Sending best wishes and solidarity ✊

For sure… It’s about HAVING a creative vision, the fact of having one as much as what it is that’s made… versus catering to an imaginary (and dull/conservative) consumer…

Would like to see a radical feminist version that used craft to deconstruct the notions of womanhood and also creative self expression that M&S discourse permits!!! (I’m being unkind, I do buy tights and things there)

Agree! Saw part of one episode, wasn’t impressed. A nice pea green velvet fabric was considered way too outré and everything had to be in shades of beige and tan.
