Yes, but you don’t have to call yourself one if you don’t want to.
That sounds amazing! Can’t wait to see :)

Hello gamers I'm opening *emergency* graphic design commissions, to help me keep my healthcare due this friday. Flexible pricing, I'll do:
-Title typography
-Iconography

Looking forl ow effort/stress (ie not suited for short turnarounds and big expectations), great for mockups and prototypes
NO DONT TALK BAD ABOUT MY BABY
Disgusting on so many levels.
“Do you want me to write your shopping list for you?”

NO NONONONO you do not get to dictate what I buy and you DO NOT get to tell me what my family needs

Hey there Delilah
What's it like in the antique land
Do two legs vast and trunkless
In the desert wastes yet still stand
All alone
With this message carved in stone:
"I'm not owned"
But I don’t WANT to do the work, I want to do the design and someone ELSE do the work 😭😭

But yes, that’s part of why I only take a very few contracts on every year.
Ok, but in my mind you and @chrishopper.bsky.social are “the real designers” and I’m just a goblin who lurks in the discord
Oh sure!

David Bowe from the labyrinth for me, and for my daughter:

Travis willingam from Sophia the First
They Might Be Giants, who does the “hotdog dance” in Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
Bill Nye, LaVar Burton and Alton Brown from Miles from Tomorrowland
It is technically possible that he was also a relative of hers, I suppose.
Actually you maybe could tell right now from my portfolio because I was using adobes sites and they drafted everything lmao

You can see I’m a FRAUD, if you go to my site you’re just going to see a 404
I only have one child, but she’s 3. I can’t fully relate to your situation but I can definitely understand parts of it.

The layered guilt of not being “all in” on both sides of life is crazy. I respect you so much for finding a way to do what you love while also prioritizing the people you love!
Freelancer here: from the internets perspective, I’m a successful full time designer! You can’t tell from my portfolio (NDAs) or from how I talk about contracts how much work I get.

I AM a professional artist, but I do a VERY small amount of work each year. My husband supports us and I’m a SAHM!
We can fight this by not making our safety nets invisible.

Here's mine: it's impossible for me to afford to live on what this Press makes, even though it's my full time job.

My wife works full time and gets our healthcare.

My mother invested $20,000 over 3 years to get the Press off the ground.
Many full time creatives have “invisible safety nets” like bread-winning partners, trust funds, external support, etc. No shame on anyone, but it creates a false vision of success. The cost of going to cons alone on top of hoping to eat as a freelancer are untenable, IMO.
You know what? You’re right. You are SO right
You might already know this, but that’s a bodega cat!

In NYC they call corner shops (or basically a blend of a drugstore and a small grocery) bodegas. It’s not unusual for a cat to just live there and patrol the shelves. Bodega cats are kind of a thing for New Yorkers.
I do not want to hear this, so I choose to disbelieve
The rendering on that sheer fabric 🤯 like I can see it and I know what it’s gonna feel like if I touch it
Do I just not understand what “adventure game” means? BG3 was game of the year?
Anyone with a uterus needs to visit a GYN after getting peppered, it’s bad for your reproductive system and super harmful to pregnancies
That description on the back is SO compelling 👀👀 the cover is pretty but I wasn’t actually interested in the story until I read the back
The difference between “I would love to own this” and “I would pay money for this” is STAGGERING.
