I actually got a response from the FOIA system saying DEQ staff could respond to my request, because it wasn't anything secret, but they did not. The idea that all information is top secret first is bonkers

Oh I have a fun FOIA story-I asked DEQ for the list of people on a legislative work group on the Litter Tax in advance of a meeting and was told I needed to FOIA that info. Got the list from the bill patron who said it was not a FOIA item.

Update: Since the new hire's favorite treat is brown sugar and cinnamon poptarts I got a nice coffee cake from Wegmans as the treat and he took to it like Waffles to a bag of potato bones.
