My children weaponize my ADHD to get out of chores. It's very evil and effective. They'll just ask me about food or spices or Indiana Jones or dinosaurs and, bam, 30 more minutes of screen time squinched out of Mom, like a Dark Crystal muppet being juiced by The Shard. gah.

Learning myself, triggers and tells, has taken decades but has vastly improved my ability to avoid emotional collapse and mental flaboobbery. (That IS a real word.) Equally important is learning how to successfully reroute and reboot yourself. Also allow unplug from the socket time.

First Halloween in the new neighborhood and it was lit. Great vibes, we sat down to Brazilian hot dogs with new friends, I was offered beer, wine, an espresso martini, a fabulous rum ball and many more than once. And we didn't even make it very far! Feeling at home here. And tipsy.
