To spell it out, the reason I hate democrats so much and criticize them more than I do republicans is because they take up all the space for opposition to republicans and use that space to give republicans whatever the fuck they want.

i interpreted this as unintentional. so ingrained is the idea that absolutes are evil that he doesn't even realize he's speaking in an absolute. an impossibility, since he's not evil. doesn’t even cross his mind. a microcosm of the stale dogma of the jedi order (who's laws are full of absolutes!)

i am simultaneously a pessimist (observant of events and conditions with above average pattern recognition while being generally bad at denial and self gaslighting apart from extremely narrow and specific personal situations) and an optimist (extremely stubborn refusal to give up despite the above)
