True story: Christine, single mom 12 yo daughter. Rode bike 2 crappy job, no health insurance. Got sick, tried to soldier on. Died in ER throwing up blood from bleeding ulcer.

The pharisees certainly did hold power-over the minds of the common people. The scribes served the religious power-farmers and shepherds couldn't hire scribes. He was speaking truth to power. Rome collaborated with any local powers to avoid uprisings.
