Got informed by my employer that someone tried to file for unemployment using my SSN and name. Looks like one of the many companies who decided to give away my SSN has led to this. I hope the person committing fraud gets cancer and loses a loved one to a horrible disease before they themselves die.
Oh yes, itchy. I think that's the sign of nerve regrowth in the area as I believe the nerves that pass the itching sensation are the first ones to grow back.
Going to go munch on dinner, but then I think I'll fire up a stream and see if I can get a Castlevania PB. Going through controller fights at the moment, but aren't we all?
Happy 40th Birthday to the Nintendo Entertainment System! Don't tear your rotator cuff like I did!
If my memory is right, Konami was aware of this pretty quickly and released PRG1 which has a white oval seal of quality on the cart and box. If you had a PRG0 copy back then, you could take it back to a retailer to exchange it for a PRG1 copy if memory serves me right.
Classic sign of the PRG0 ROM lock-up. The initial release of Castlevania 1, with a circular black seal of quality, has a nasty bug where if there is lag the CPU can be fed an illegal instruction and hard lock just like that. All those sprites on screen lead to the lag. Common in Death's Hallway too.
Survived into the weekend. Let's see if I can finally put together a good run of CV1. Live now.

Once all is done and the last person is out, you could cook a buttered grilled cheese sandwich on a skillet and it would taste like it was a $10,000 meal. Nothing beats a brand new kitchen.
Same here. That looks dope as all hell.
Okay, hear me out. Was short on cash for the day and needed lunch. Domino's has cheap coupons and a good deal so I picked up a pizza. I'm smiling as I look at the box since for some reason today the local Dominos is using the 1980's style pizza boxes. It made me smile.
No questions. This version of the lightbox is 1000x better than Version 1.0. Version 2.0 has MUCH more solid coloration and richness to it. I love it!
Fixed the issue of the light bleeding around the edges. (Thank you 2 mm black tape). This looks stunning.
After I built Version 1 of my lightbox, I knew I could make a better one. The 1st version was done expecting a few mistakes I could learn from. This is version 2. Made with a MUCH higher quality print from This Old Game and some 1x3 pine boards. Still have a bit more to do on this, but almost done!
Yeah. Way too beat from a looooooooooooooong week of work. We'll go live tomorrow.
It's Friday. Finally. Just tinkering with some things. Might stream later if the mood hits me right. We'll see.
Yeah, the needle has definitely gone too far to the other side. I had rotator cuff surgery in 2021, and the doctor only prescribed a couple of 5 mg oxycodone tabs for pain relief. (Which based on my body size would do nothing). The pain was so severe I became borderline suicidal. Just brutal.
Yes. Pain medications, in particular opiates, have to be taken in advance of the pain to really be able to do their job effectively. Once the pain is already set in, they aren't as effective. Also good to keep in touch with your doctor regarding dosing and refills so you don't grow too tolerant.
Reading that gave me painful memories of my rotator cuff surgery when the nerve block wore off. Post-surgical pain is just unreal. Hope it passes soon for you!
Arcade cabinet restoration will teach you many things about woodworking, electronics, schematics reading, etc. I owe my ability to mod and tinker with stuff due to my early work restoring arcade cabinets.
Man. This was a bunch of hard work, but the lightbox I made out of scrap stuff lying around turned out great! Already have ideas regarding V2.0 of this that I'll make soon.
Congrats Zallard! Glad to hear you made it out alright and the surgery was a success! I bet that's a huge weight off your shoulder. The stuff they pump through you during surgery to keep you barely alive is funky. The body will spend some time purging it, and its metabolites, out of you.
Hope you are recovering nicely my friend and the procedure was a total success!
I love making things. Made this lightbox out of an inexpensive arcade marquee print, some leftover scrap wood, some PVC backing board, LED Lights, and a plexiglass front. (Aside from paint, glue, filler, etc.). This is the first of two I plan to make. Using lessons learned from this on my other.
Finally settled down and got all the stuff done I want to get done. Let's fire up the Twin-Famicom and get some practice in with CV1 and then maybe some runs after. Live now.
