It certainly does. Some officers will do their best from the outside. Study the governor of Maryland as an example of what can be done beyond the uniform.

This resignation is commendable. I don't think any of us can imagine what it's like to take military orders from abject imbeciles

Interesting, reminds me of Lt Dan from Forrest Gump who was quite conflicted.

This may help - One thing I realized after living in DC for >8yrs, is that many people do not know what slogans mean, and some simply do not realize what they are signaling, and may not even mean to signal it...LOL

When the ICE agents are shooting tear gas at the Chicago police, you think that the NYPD and everybody else in this country would pick up on the plot here. I mean, it means that ICE is not friendly to any police, force, or respectful of any law in any state.
