Years ago I told my kids that JFC stands for Jerry the Fried Chicken. Spouse and I made up all kinds of silly stories about Jerry; I thought it was better than explaining my swearing habit.

Anyway. This weekend a couple of the kids figured things out and they are not pleased.
Look I know theft is bad, but I just can't get too worked up about someone potentially making better use of a bunch of dead monarchs' glittery representations of repression than their previous use, in which tourists fawned over glass cases of Disney Princess-level mythology 🤷‍♀️
A bigot against illogical people? Is that a thing now?
Although an attitude of "okay guys, pack it up. Nothing to see here. All has been fulfilled" would explain the high levels of nihilism today
Did you really just "it depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is" Christianity?
Are you telling me that the transitive property disproves Christianity 🤯
I think it's fascinating that Christians believe with absolutely zero evidence that Jews are awaiting a messiah who, they anticipate, would do for us what Jesus purportedly did for them. If we wanted or believed in that, we'd be Christian
Wow yes, the open notes create the same feeling for my kiddo!
Yes, I think Dandies hold up very well to toasting. They puff up and brown, get melty inside if you toast at a low temp for a few minutes, and develop a nice crust on the outside. They have good flavor, too.
What? No, the handwashing wasn't a burdensome mitzvah. It was the s'mores. Christians wanted s'mores, what with all of the fires back then, and Jews insisted on avoiding pig gelatin.

Of course, this is a moot point in modern times
That's a good point; Israel reinforces this association.
I dunno, Rev, I have never felt like Pharisaic practices were unachievable and I've never felt shamed by my traditions or people.
I.e., the association of Christian imagery on flags/Christianity of say, Denmark, with its bad behavior is mostly limited to a few online people, whereas the association of Jewish imagery on the Israeli flag/Judaism with Israel's bad behavior is unavoidably common
My understanding is that these countries are occasionally called out by a few (and the few who call them out do not hold power) for biases associated w Xtianity. But it's not nearly as pervasive, nor as associated with power, as the association and criticism of Israel/Star of David/Jewish imagery
Please no one mention that my husband helps me when I go up to the bima, that's different bc I use him AND mobility equipment 😂
Ableism is when you would rather use an entire human being to stabilize your gait than admit you need mobility equipment
Mitch McConnell reportedly fell again today in the Russell Senate Office Building basement. It’s the latest in a series of falls this year, raising fresh questions about fitness and accountability in a Senate led by politicians well into their 80s. How long can this go on?
Best news I've heard all day!
So thanks for proving my point
(1) Those are not FB comments
(2) Those are not companies
(3) My point was that governments - including in the US and UK - manipulate accusations of antisemitism to *increase* antisemitism and Islamophobia. Universities are common places where this occurs since they receive public funding.
That's a vague statement. Who was fired? What statement did they make?
Moreover, the Trump admin's targeting is purposeful: it increases antisemitism *and* Islamophobia when people like you blame Jews for the racist behavior of mostly gentiles screaming "antisemitism!" at Palestinians and their advocates.
Aside from the Trump administration targeting people who are obviously not antisemitic in a racist, often Islamophobic manner (e.g. Mahmoud Khalil), no one's lives are ruined from accusations of antisemitism. That's just nonsense propagated largely by white supremacist crybabies.
My SAHM friends who make bread every other day are now asking how to make protest signs. I don't think the problem is that we have no mass movement; I think the problem is that some folks thought it would be more glamorous.
