Same! My mom had a friend that died from AIDS in ‘89 — she did her eulogy. Her being someone who only had that as her only real experience with gays and such I came to understood her pushback when I first came out. It’s better now too and I’m grateful but it’s def not perfect. Mom’s a minister so 🤷🏾‍♂️
