Here’s what broke me: the protein debate. How much protein do you need per day? Podcasts are pushing you need 1g per lb of body weight. And to be honest, without looking into the science and before hearing the arguments, my bullshit meter sprung to life.

Here's a fun one: when you find out the results of a contest that you've submitted to on Instagram, but you never got a rejection and it's still live in Submittable. So I take it I didn't win?

But, you know, lit mags, right?
One thing you’ll hear a lot of critics say is, “I don’t care about the movie because they spent no time developing these characters and I don’t care whether they live or die.” Really? Are you a fucking psychopath? #weapons #horror

Vagabond is a dark film if you watch it as a standalone film. It gets even darker when your watching it in the context of Agnes Varda’s filmography, which entertains a lot of dark themes, but this perhaps hints at the darkest. #agnesvarda

I still love Oy, so there's that. Great show by the way. Can't wait to hear more on your Dark Tower journey.
I'm going to confess to being a psychopath here: Wolf is the Jar Jar Binks of the Stephen King Universe, and yes, I can't stand him.
The push and pull between traditional values and individual freedoms at the root of women’s lives are becoming a primary concern for Varda, and she carries that through into Vagabond which explores the life of a Pauline type figure who decides to take the idea of freedom to a further extreme. #varda

The moment you’re born, you start the journey toward death, so why is it only when we’re faced with a situation like Cleo’s that we look around and see the world as worth cherishing? jmjones9176.substack.com/p/august-of-... #agnesvarda

What's the difference between a porcupine and a Cyber Truck?

With a porcupine, the pricks are on the outside.

We should be able to view edit history here. My response was to the original comment which was WTF that’s a great analogy
It’s a terrible analogy. Analogies are 1:1. I don’t agree with ICE and hate Trump but 9:11 was a terror attack that killed that many people not detained them. If you tell me every month in Gaza is 9:11 that seems accurate. This however is hyperbole
Are they executing the arrests by firing squad?
A lot of female friend groups watch Golden Girls or Sex and the City and debate, which one of them are you? On today, the 50th anniversary of Jaws, I put it to you male friends groups, which member of the Orca are you?

Isn't it amusing how doctors always ask vegetarians how they get their protein, but don't ask meat eaters how they get their fiber?

That reminder that when an actor or musician passes away, you know within the hour. When a great writer passes, it takes several days for the news to trickle down even to the reading public.

A Boy's Own Story is one of the great coming-of-age novels. If you haven't read it, please do.

Everyday I sit down to write full of the trepidation that nothing will come. Everyday something comes. Some days, it's good. Others, it's bad. But it always comes. So why haven't I learned yet that just sitting down at my desk is half the battle? #writinglife
