At MagicCon Atlanta, I spoke to a lot of Magic: The Gathering designers and creatives. In doing so, I picked up on one prevailing thought: Magic is for anyone, not for everyone. Making everyone happy is impossible, and that's okay.

My piece for @GameSpot.com:

The Minds Behind Magic: The Gathering Say They're Making It For Anyone, Not Everyone
The main message from MTG's creators at MagicCon Atlanta is that they won't please everyone, and that's okay.

Just got this email and immediately thought of your post:
I missed the first “with” in this post the first time I read it, and my eyebrows raised so fast, my hat flew off.
Very sad to hear about the news of Tomonobu Itagaki's passing.

He played a part in my first-ever E3 in 2010, as we ended up at the same rooftop THQ party. Greeted me, a 23-year-old newbie, as if we'd known each other forever.

Rest in peace, Itagaki-san. Thanks for the thumbs up.
Joe. Fucking. Carter.

I was six years old when he swung that bat, and I still cringe when I hear the name.

Hey, so Outer Worlds 2. Seems like a cool game.

I’ll know for sure soon, because I’m reviewing it for @rollingstone.com.

Keep an eye out!

If I say the phrase:

“Song from a video game”

Then immediately follow with:

“Killer bass line”

What’s the first song that comes to mind?
This is a wonderful thing, well done mate.

For @rollingstone.com I ranked the 20 Best Games for the #Nintendo Entertainment System. #Zelda #MarioBros and #metroid all appear, but the real joy was including Super Dodge Ball — a highly underrated game.

This is a Very Good List. Mega Man 2 right where it belongs, Tecmo Super Bowl over Tecmo Bowl, Life Force is a good shout, well done.
Look universe, I was already leaning toward watching Avatar: The Last Airbender for the first time as we approach the upcoming Magic: The Gathering set in November.

You didn’t need to thumb the scale with a gorgeous looking 2D 1v1 fighting game!

Wasn’t sure what to expect when Miary Zo was teased, but “reincarnation of Ogre” certainly didn’t cross my mind.

Like what I’m seeing!

Happy birthday buddy!

I saw this message earlier, went and donated, and then completely forgot to come back and wish you this happy birthday. I am a dummy haha.

Hope you’re having a birthday Buzzball!
My favorite art from what’s been revealed so far.
My Ninja Turtles card from Magic the Gathering was revealed!
Art from the Magic Card “Turtles Forever”
The four teenage mutant ninja turtles appear in a multiverse crossover. Donatello appears to be from the old live action movie, Raphael from the Fred Wolf TV cartoon, Leonardo from the Magic the Gathering TMNT universe, and Michelangelo from the Mirage comics. They are fist bumping and noogie-ing each other in front of a bright cityscape background. Ninjas lay scattered and defeated behind them.
Seems the Philly sports rot spread over to Happy Valley. Woof.
