If you missed the TV episode in 1975 (the BBC lost the footage), you may not know of the musical sketch that featured this Richard Stilgoe song. Ignoring the fact they were all blokes back then, it's a reminder of some of the agents who can gain access to one's home (the Post Office did TV licence.)

It is the biggest threat, because those naked cyclists don't care what others think. If they will do this, what else will they do? And how can they be stopped without alienating the electorate? First they have to be demonised.

Uni fees was why Lib Dems had enough to form a coalition. They could have insisted on free uni, but went for an obscure voting system referendum. This encouraged DC to offer a Brexit referendum, thinking people will always vote for the status quo. Economy could afford free uni with fair taxation.

If African Americans get named after their Continent of ancestral origin, this lot should too. That leaves just the indigenous Americans, who could choose to add their tribal names, but they don't have to as their ancestors weren't immigrants.

I suppose you have to understand the concept of the village post office to appreciate Mr Bates fully. Maybe they should make a little explanatory overture at the beginning, all about how the postmaster/mistress is the heart & soul of the community.

Margaret Thatcher, learning from the Vietnam War, only allowed very limited journalist presence among troops sailing to The Falklands to repel the invasion by Argentina. It paid off; jingoism won. Success bought a prime minister on rubber legs another term in office.
