Trying to be a serious person, but probably thinking about X-Men and Star Trek.

I have the Rogue one of these framed in my office and it's honestly fantastic.

IKR? My favourite drink? The thing that makes starbucks hot chocolate actually drinkable??
jameshunt.bsky.social
You have no idea how close this is to what I'm actually like when it comes to making mint-flavoured drinks.
jameshunt.bsky.social
IKR? The options are off all the apps. Someone said you can still order in person but probably only until the current supplies run out. Furious tbh.

Starbucks has stopped doing peppermint syrup in the UK within weeks of yazoo stopping their peppermint milkshakes. I don't know why this country is so hostile towards mint-flavoured things unless they're toothpaste or gum.

Deadly Genesis was before that, no? I feel like Carey was trying to drag Prof X back to being a good guy again by having him address his failures, but after that run people went back to treating him like a “do as I say, not as I do” guy. It’s been a long time since I read this stuff though!

Oh I got another one: Professor X works better as the mentor with a genuine dream rather than daddy child soldiers hypocrite. Someone (I wanna say Brubaker?) did a sort of post-modern analysis of his 60s incarnation that stuck hard and ruined him as a character.

What's an opinion about X-Men that'll get you sent to jail? Is Jean really interesting or really boring? Should Logan have stayed dead? Do you think a certain x-mens outfit is positively horrendous even though people seem to love it?

The Brood Saga is better than Dark Phoenix imo 🤷

In fairness neutral-ally apocalypse was a great storyline but all the more so for the massive fight they had with him at the end.

Cyclops/Emma is more interesting that Cyclops/Jean. And wolverine/Jean is more interesting than Wolverine/anyone else except nightcrawler

Ha, right? I just think we’re teaching kids the wrong lessons in history class, y’know.

Ha. First time I went to a music festival in 1998 I knew my friend was there but we just assumed we would find each other by walking around and, somehow, did.
jameshunt.bsky.social
Anyway I found it really funny that these people online were so confident of their understanding of the universe that they thought it was 50,000 festival goers who were stupid rather than them.

Admittedly the iPhone had just come out but A) no-one under 30 could afford one, B) mobile internet was shit, doubly so in hugely crowded areas, and C) if you’d taken your iPhone to reading festival it would definitely have been nicked or smashed or both.

This is all fact. The other day I saw someone relaying the story to people on Reddit, and most of the responses were along the lines of “five seconds on Google would have told you that the FFers were a real band” or whatever. It hit me then: these commenters didn’t know that was impossible in 2008.
jameshunt.bsky.social
I was once at Reading festival and there was a rumour that some band listed as “the FFers” on the smallest stage would actually be the Foo Fighters doing a secret set. Of course they were not, and those kids played to a huge (but hostile) crowd of people who turned up expecting to see Dave Grohl.

It’s in recado rojo which might be the sauce you mean?
jameshunt.bsky.social
Big Mexican cooking flavour, looks a lot like Paprika, sometimes called Annatto, I haven’t eaten the stuff you’re talking about but I would bet actual money that’s what you’re talking about. Assuming Old El Paso were authentic enough to use it.

We were there too. Had the very interesting behind-the-scenes experience of sitting behind the producer as he issued notes from his laptop too. Agree it was a great show!

Our train was announced as having “reverse formation” (I.e. first class at the back) so we got to watch all the train company bootlickers do a walk of shame up to the far end of the platform.

I learnt that this existed about three days ago and immediately I was like "yes. Finally!" although, in fairness, the suggestion that you bring your own padlock doesn't fill me with total confidence. There are a bunch of youtubers reviewing it which are interesting: www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Imh...
