She also experimented with tweets, IndieHackers, Reddit, Hacker News, Quora, and directories to grow awareness.

Pierson build an app that turns newsletter subscriptions into a personalized daily podcast.

He drove growth through blog posts - one became the top-upvoted post in r/SaaS, bringing ~1,500 visits and a 3% conversion to users - and an AI YouTuber’s feature added ~200 users.

Stas Kulesh is the co-founder of Karma Bot.

It took a year to land the first 100 customers, and growth was slow - with just ~$200/month for two years. After joining YC School, he ramped up to ~$2k/month within months.
I still aim for 5000 subscribers to my newsletter (link in profile) in 2025.

I grew by about 100 in August. Not enough. But not giving up!
Lucas built Roast My Photo and launched version 1.0 within a week.

The tool let users upload a photo and receive an AI "roast" video.

After sharing it in Dutch AI Telegram groups and a glowing post from a tech influencer on X, his site went viral.

In its first month, over 10k videos were created.

He promoted it via authentic, build-in-public tweets: a teaser post went viral with ~300 followers.

That traction led to 3,000 site visitors, 12 early customers from a $1 intro offer, and a Product Hunt debut.

To gain early momentum, he invited app owners to join for free and promoted each via posts on X. He also bought about 50 apps (for ~$50) and shared his reviews on X.

This engagement persuaded some owners to pay for directory listings,
