Posts Media Videos Starter Packs
sliding down and running off slopes now fully function with magnets. Now that magnet physics are mostly complete, I can start working on cooler stuff (like an ost demo :o)
Magnets now are mostly omnidirectional and work around circles.
added grind rails (this will make more sense in context of the level lol)
added big tree with a cool vine that you can run down (this is very cool)
Fixed up tilemap to path based terrain collisions and added more level design (sorry this update is lame I was sick this week)
New magnet rotation and ceiling collision (you stick to ceiling when magnets push you into them)
New vine-like terrain that can be placed anywhere via a path 2D. (also I really like the song I made for this)
New intro animation w/ WIP graphics obviously. My dumbass was abt to show off the level select progress but thats spoilers for every single location of the game so heres this.
New speed effects (purple trail + speed lines) and a speedometer.
Ground dash thingy to build speed fast and take out grounded enemies. (I have NO idea what the in universe reason koiku can do this is)
New spike obstacle (will probably be switched to thorns or smth but thats way harder to draw) + more level
New parallax backround (with placeholder assets lmao)
uhhhmhm uhhhh new magnet attack without gravity because its my enemy and i hate it
Added running down walls if you fall fast enough.
Health system + death + new SFX
Added the ability to hold down a button to toggle whether the player is a magnet or not. Also added a sick effect for it.
Reworked sliding so that it has advantages over running now. Basically with the power of mag-lev BS there is now zero friction when you slide, and you get twice the acceleration down slopes, so with a good combo of running and sliding you can reach some crazy speeds.
I made a boost pad which is fine or whatever but I also discovered new tech i accidentally made!!! if you dash you can redirect all you're horizontal velocity the other way, so you can build a bunch of speed by just chaining slopes.
New magnet dash thingy visuals/collisions. Gonna be struggling to not cram one bajillion of these things in every level I have way too much fun playtesting this part.
We here at arch studios or whatever its called are proud to announce that we're the first people to ever put a loop-d-loop in a video game. Its never been done before and we did it. congratulations to us.

New collectable!!!(mind the placeholder image) I'm hoping to have these be incentive for the player to interact with/learn level mechanics and maybe restore health. Also I have to lock in and make them something not generic like coins/gems/hearts.
