I was delighted to join the Lord-Lieutenant of Suffolk, Clare, Countess of Euston for the official opening of the new Ipswich ambulance hub.

Backed by £10 million of Government funding, this is an impressive state-of-the-art facility which will deliver better healthcare for local people.

Today Greater Anglia has transferred into public ownership and the Transport Secretary, Heidi Alexander, visited East Anglia to mark this new chapter.

The SEND system is absolutely broken.

Families are forced into exhausting and expensive tribunals, a process that feels combative and secretive, when councils should be supporting them from the very start.

No parent should have to fight like this. That is why we need reform.

I know many people in our town struggle to access timely healthcare.

There is a need to move services out of hospital and into communities, so I am pleased Ipswich is one of the first beneficiaries of this neighbourhood approach.

That is why I believe SEND teacher training should be mandatory.
