It’s International Book Day today. What are you reading? I can never read just one book, so I’m read ”A Drop of Corruption” by Robert Jackdon Bennett, a fantasy detective novel. And re-reading ”Comet in Moominland” by Tove Jansson.

My oldest VIP. Started and embroidery 20 years ago. Now just the hemming is left… Copied from an extant 1770s linen gown from the collection Kulturen in Lund in Sweden.

Finished a nightgown in yellow seersucker. Simple, fast project, but it still feels good to be sewing again, after last year’s dry spell.

While recuperating from flu, I made a proper project plan. Or perhaps wishlist- I ended up with 30+ sheets. This is what I’m sewing on right now.

I saw ”Nosferatu” yesterday and really liked it. Wonderful photo and costumes. Would have preferred if the vampire had been out of focus entirely, he was scarier that way.

Finished the cutting down. Here you can see how much The Cassandra Stays pattern differs from the original stays. The front and back side panels aren’t that different, by the back, and especially the side front have quite dramatic changes.

Old stays that doesn’t fit anymore are to be repurposed, using The Cassandra Stays from Scroop Patterns as pattern.

I’ve absolutely no idea if this place is for me, but anyway: hello.
