Read a few comics as a kid, but the bug didn’t kick in until avoiding studying for college finals—& there was the spinner rack. Eventually burned out by X-Men crossovers and New 52. Dipped a toe in again a few years ago and am feeling the joy again! 🏳️‍🌈

That does have a certain appeal.

The vast majority of my comics (pre-comics pause that ended after Rebirth) are in storage anyway, and I’m starting to get tired of the constant shifting them around to keep titles together.

It’s one of those “set in the future events that may or may not happen,” so they can do anything they want and then discard it.

Revelation takes place ten years from now, I think.

How do you organize within the months?

And you all convinced me to back Macabre Valley in these waning hours. 😀

Doing that bagging and boarding thing while listening to @cbccpodcast.bsky.social’s podcast with Zack Quaintance and Anna Readman on Macabre Valley!

They are!

So far I’ve bought Cul-de-Sac, Planet Death, They’re All Terrible, and Survivor.

I’ve ordered Save Now, and I want to check out Ordained.

When you organize your comics, do you file by actual name (Amazing Spider-Man, Spectacular Spider-Men, Exceptional X-Men, and Unbreakable X-Men), or do you file them by noun, modifier (Spider-Man, Amazing; Spider-Men, Spectacular; X-Men, Exceptional; X-Men, Unbreakable)?

While I don’t begrudge her wanting it—who wouldn’t?—him doing it and thinking it was anything other than mere sexual attraction is a different story. Even that’s not great, but I get it. The actual relationship was so wrong.

Much preferred Emma as a villain Who had nothing to do with Scott.

Just wait until #2! 😢

I didn’t order this one because I wanted to see it in person, but it does pique my interest.

But then we wouldn’t have the Brood saga!

Good as Dead is another winner from David & Maria Lapham. It’s about a small town and “warring” families—one includes the sheriff, another the criminals.

It’s complex & violent, with betrayals, quirky characters, and situations that are exciting & make me want to read more.

#2 comes out tomorrow!
The cover to Good as Dead #1 shows the citizens of Port London in a “fog” emanating from the new bridge. The top of the fog appears to be a skull. Art by David Lapham.

If you haven’t read Survive #1, pick it up immediately and then buy #2, which comes out tomorrow!

It is an exciting book about sabotaging a submarine on a secret (no radio contact) mission and the two men who appear to be the lone survivors.

This is not usually my type of story, but I ate it up.
Cover to Survive #1 shows two men—survivors of a submarine disaster—shooting at what appears to be sea creatures with tentacles. (Caveat: This scene did not appear in the issue, though it does look cool!) Art by Jorge Fornés.

I get that Krakoa wasn’t meant to last, but I would have liked for it to remain as a haven for mutants that needed it, but then show how they outgrow it or get restless under it.

It’s an example of taking things one or two steps too far, and then that overreach has dire consequences. Scale it back.

Yep. The students have surpassed the teacher at this point, and he needs to fade into the background—or perhaps go out with a bang that solidifies his legacy after all of his missteps.

I thought this was going in the “rinse, repeat” approach to the storylines, not the shiny black hair looking white until I clicked on the post. 😂
ireadcomics.bsky.social
Um, who’s looking at the hair in this picture?

Charles has passed his sell-by date. I really don’t enjoy his character any longer.

The dream needs to stay alive and be reinterpreted by the current X leaders, each with their own twist.

I remember how cool it was when Emma assembled the Hellions. Do more like that, with competing schools.

Love the Absolute Superman character, not so sure about the storyline with Ra’s and Lazarus. Less so after Absolute Evil.

Ms. Tree remains a favorite character.

To me, she was a precursor to series like Kinsey Milhone.
