I'd appreciate it if anyone notes any glaring typos in this to nudge me.

Otherwise, this will do for now.
I am a poet. My first publication was in 2018. I’ve been consistently published ever since, but am yet to find a publisher who wants to give me a contract. Also, I am a digital native and have been posting online since the days when Usenet was where all the Internet Drama took place. We’re coming up for thirty years online.

I am here, thinking on a daily basis from now on. I have committed to this space as mine going forward, until some idiot billionaire fucks this up too... It's a place for talking, as I appreciate that many people do not want to have my work in their Inbox. So, I will share my work here and you have the option to consume as you wish.

A few caveats:

no meme accounts
no repost only accounts
engage with me first
respect my caveats

This has been a long time coming: I am 58, have two adult children and am a happily married bisexual. If you’re still reading at this point, you deserve all the plaudits for doing so. #transrightsarehumanrights

Not for money, or for prestige, but enrich and improve the world around you.

Just make shit, people.

all fiction and non-fiction should alternate release years: just fiction in 2026, then nonfic in 2027, back & forth...

i think this would do wonders for increasing readership in both genres.

then again, i havent had coffee yet either...

Well. Things are pretty bad for the current regime. Look who they've pissed off NOW. (Watch to the end, it's not just footage from Portland. Surprise musical guest!)

I’m seeing pieces and posts today about how useful digital ID could be in navigating bureaucracy etc. Yes. It would. That, however, is *not* how the government tried to sell it to us. Instead, they portrayed it as a tool to stop illegal working and curb illegal immigration. 1/4

The Spectator (owned by GBNews owner Paul Marshall - estimated wealth of £800 million) doesn’t like taxing wealth fairly.

I wonder how they got to this editorial decision?

Let’s tax wealth fairly, fund front line services & make hope normal again.

Polanski is talking nonsense about wealth taxes.

Hello #PortfolioDay !

I'm a woodcarver from France. I'm sculpting animals, anthropomorphic ones or weird creatures.

You can find my work on my website, but also ... on DOOM II !

My DOOM II portfolio mod :

Woocarved weird creature with one eye, small tentacles as a motuh, curvy horns, a robre, and a duck on its head. Anthropomorphic octopus wearing a dress. It has a frog taking shelter on a book on its head. Its holding a basket in its tentacle arms. The base is like dark waters, where, among bulrush, a sword emerge. On the handle, a kingfisher sits. A sculpture of an anthropomorphic crow with a hooded cape. Its hand is on the pommel of its sword, wich is attached at its side. On the other arm, a squirrel is climbing. Beside its feets, a cat sits. An anthropomorphic goose weraing plate armor. It' holding a shield and a mace. On the mace, red robin sits.

Here's some of my favourite personal work!
A digital illustration of a purple figure with a flat expression and their hands up grasping weakly at colourful looping shapes with bold black lines. Some have yellow eyes at the centre, they obscure most of the figures head, neck and shoulders. A digital illustration of a colourful moth with swirly leafy details in its wings and a pastel rainbow ombre body. It is framed by swirly leafy shapes also in pastel ombre tones, and a rainbow spiral with circles showing the phases of the moon in yellow and white. The large full moon rests at the centre of the spiral and under the moths right wing. A sigitL illustration of a white bat with 2 heads and eight wings in flight. It has no eyes and each wing is a different colour: blue, green, yellow, orange, red, pink, indigo and violet. It is framed by pastel sparkles and a gold ring border with a repeating pattern of eyeballs around it. In the outer corners are feathery stylised purple wings, and circles showing the phases of the moon. A digital illustration: a parody of memento mori still life paintings but it's arranged on a beach and has a 'goth summer' theme. Objects include a skull, sunglasses, globe beachball with a witch hat on top, romance books with a knife stabbed in the top, a cocktail with an eyeball in it, a poison punch bottle, suncream, fang sweets, melting icecream, shells, bucket and spade, beach bag and towels. They are framed by a grey beach umbrella, deckchair, and a footprint in the sand.

As mentioned earlier, I am not enamoured when a book is popular. More and more, my purchasing is swayed by a) interacting with the writer and b) seeing the quality of their work first hand.

You have ticked a great many other boxes too :D

So, as a postscript to the longlisting I have called up my document and... now we can play 'guess the poem that gets the nod' and there is nothing in this quartet I think is any less worthy than anything else. That's validation, that is.

In my mind I would have infinite money for poetry, but then I'd need infinite money for storage... so I have a budget, and I stick to it, and all the books get to stay <3

It's been a real pleasure to have discovered you here, and to be reminded of the universal nature of my craft :D

I have spent the last of the Book Budget on @upfromsumdirt.bsky.social's new poems.

I am very much looking forward to reading them <3

The Regime's goal is to grind everyone down. Plain & simple. Our goal is to refuse this by taking turns to fight where and how we can. When one group needs to bow out, then another group needs to step in and so on. We don't all have to do everything. We can all do something though. Stay in the fight

MATE <3 Don’t worry about for me, sort your important things out first <3
