I still believe — despite no evidence — that the Astros had decoded the Nats signs. And that after getting rocked, the Nats switched up without HOU realizing. Bats were garbage in G6/7.

The Altuve K in G6 was the swing of someone who knew but didn’t know what was coming.
worth a mention Stephen Strasburg had to change his entire approach in Game 6 of the 2019 World Series because he was "tipping his own pitches" (as it was thought at the time) in the 1st inning, changed how he held the glove and the Astros never hit him again

It’s time to move past the 1939 Germany world domination scandal.

We hit "asking questions about my Nazi tattoo is Cancel Culture and is costing us elections" portion of this before 10 AM, that's a new record for The Discourse
If people affiliated with the campaign have to fall back on stuff like this in October in the year prior to the election, you're toast, pack it in.

The third Game 7 homer EVER in the 7th inning or later that turned a deficit into a lead. The others:

Hal Smith, Pirates, 1960 WS
Howie Kendrick, Nats, 2019 WS
I’m sure they knew the rule. Not sure they saw it clearly enough to call.
My conspiracy theory is that the umps huddled long enough until the league signaled the right call to them
I hope that even when RFK comes down they don’t touch this sign.
Shut the fuck up

Not sure the folks at NBC/Peacock thought this one through
Could just be healthy great pitchers!

But that delta in performance and the metrics anomalies makes me wonder if there’s something there if you dig.
But I do wonder what, if anything, LA scouts found to exploit that.

If they’re not exit velo kings then can you knock the bat out of their hands like they did this series?

How were they pitched differently this week than last month?
What interests me about the Brewers was they were neat the bottom of the league in all the trendy public batting measurement stats. Yet if you watched them they got the bat on the ball and found holes.

Harder to do that against a good team than a bad one.

At least we don’t still have to pretend Mike Trout is the best player in world history.
No pitcher has ever deflated as quickly as Lidge did there.
Still the most impressive homer I’ve seen.
Today is the 20th anniversary of Pujols' home run off of Brad Lidge.

Off topic, but I think this might be my favorite scorebug of all time. I always thought it was cool to have the team text resemble how it'd look at a casino monitor. Someone should bring this back.

our teams are not the same
Blue Jays radio didn’t seem too excited there.
