Moving swiftly, I am expecting to find a bloodied scene where the victim had been decapitated. Imagine my surprise when my eyes are met with a male, around thirty years old, beaten, bloodied and bound to a chair. +

+ Exiting the car, this time, I had brought forensics with me. I was sure we would find more than I could handle on my own here and wanted to ensure as much evidence was preserved as possible. Watching them unload their gear and carry it inside, I follow, carefully looking around as I go. +

+ This place was very different to the small apartment in which I had located the body. Instead of a small apartment, I pull up at a massive townhouse, my jaw dropping as I regard the impressive three storey structure. +

+ Firstly, I confirmed that the apartment was indeed listed as belonging to Daisy Rowe. But a search on her /real/ name, came back with a completely different residence…

“Gentlemen,” I spin in the chair and address the room, “We have another crime scene to investigate…” +

+ For us to find…?

“She used a fake name to register the phone,” I muse aloud, “But her real address? That doesn’t add up…”
Taking a seat at the lab computer, I don’t even bother asking permission from the techs before I start my search. +

+ Cause of death was decapitation. No surprise there. But what /was/ surprising was how clean the scene was. Cutting someone’s head off was messy, no matter what was used. The fact that there wasn’t much blood, meant she had been killed somewhere else and her body placed at the scene. +

+ She was divorced, with no children, and worked at the local supermarket near her apartment. No criminal record, not even a parking ticket. In every possible sense, she seemed normal. A typical under the radar person that usually would never come to the attention of the police. Until today… +

+ She had registered the phone under the fake name, it seemed, to be able to use this terrifying app without anyone discovering her true identity. A plan that had now utterly failed, given she too, had now been murdered.
Her real name was Stella McGloin. +

+ I shake my head ruefully as I recall that the list has already dropped by one person. The latest victim. But was she also a killer?
Daisy Rowe. Not her real name, which explained why my attempts to look into her before heading to her place to question her had yielded no information. +
