For me personally, it's the modern-day scenes, costuming and technology that really hurts the vibe. Transformers, the humans in Spider-Man are dressed for present-day (and in NYC), same with Walking Dead, anything that breaks the "fantasy" setting. UBs that fit the theme might be better received.
It would be a better strategy to stick with IPs that fit into the theme. LotR and Final Fantasy fit. Avatar fits. If TMNT wasn't in NYC it would fit better (it's essentially Kamigawa). Star Trek is an incredibly different vibe. EoE was in space, but still Magic characters and less "Total Sci Fi"
Short-term gains should not be prioritized over the long-term health of the game. Gaining players is important, but retaining those players is just as important. What reason are we giving them to stay once the other IPs come in, unless they luckily like those too?
I worry that the loss of the core vibe from so many UB will make player retention more difficult. If it feels more like a patchwork than a game with a central feel to it, it won't feel any different from other mash-up games.

Day 16: Lander
Drew this while setting up for last night's Tappy Hour stream I was playing in!

It seems like it might have been the opinion(s) that the pizza looked unappetizing, and that it is a seemingly odd choice for mana. The art is still good, even if you would never eat that pizza.

UNLEASH THE KRAKEN, HE'S ABOUT TO SHRED THAT WAVE!

Even more use of different colors for #infinitokentober and even used @infinitokens.com colored border designs to even accentuate the scene of the Kraken Hanging 8 on a huge wave

Considering the vastly different styles the turtles have been part of, that could be very interesting.
The sludge could be different colors, too. Radioactive-looking.
That's a good possibility! Color accents can change, and spraypaint over it.
It would have been essentially the same as Spider-Man though, and TMNT is less modern-day-feeling than the Spider-Man set which might have a better appeal.
If you aren't a fan of the #mtgxTMNT lands being pizza, what theme or scene would have chosen for each land type?
An image of the five different lands from the TMNT Magic set, each featuring a turtle hand holding pizza with the mana symbol on it.
Was it confirmed that it was a retrofit, or was that just rumor?
When the stream runs late into the evening, the InfiniTokens start taking a turn.

Ooh love the use of color and the white outlines (keeps the marker from getting other colors on the tip AND looks cool)
