On our hike today, we saw another banana slug and lots horse poop---👩‍🔬:it was a HORSE TRAIL, Holly!---The area wasn't particularly beautiful and had been logged, probably fifty-ish years ago, so there were no huge redwoods, but still some good sized ones.

CA Prop 50 will be entirely on paper ballots, except for stubborn people who wait in line to trade that ballot, they could have checked one box and dropped in a box, even there, to vote on a machine.

The place Oregon outdoes California is ease of buying weed. CA, like most states, requires security and pre-screening before you even can get in. I was in Medford earlier this week, where it's more casual and cheaper, plus I had a couple nice hikes. 😁

I know Oregon was outdoing California on that, but I've voted by mail in CA for 40 years. The first time I voted, in 1984, after standing in line and voting, there a form on a table at the exit on how to vote absentee. It was in the early 2010s that half CA voters had figured out it's easier.

I would too, but in California I can show up and register and vote even on election day. If preregistered, my ballot would already have been mailed to me, for easy submission, like a take home test. Over 90% of Californians voted that way in 2024.

Federal taxes, from corporations and individuals, are not paid to states to be later forwarded to the IRS, but directly to the IRS. If you learned that, you and others would stop bothering us with this.
