yeah, like I said I've loved other albums. evermore and folklore are constants during autumn, loved midnights, etc. but this one just doesn't have the same... vulnerability even? and it doesn't match the theming at alllll

anyway here's the album review no one asked for. no hate to anyone who likes it, I've liked her past work (incling rep and midnights which feel very similar.) but there's like a... hollowness here? idk.

but I think Sabrina is funny and doesn't take herself too seriously and thus it works out. Taylor feels like she does take herself very seriously which isn't an issue but can make the humor feel a bit weird

a few songs are good and catchy and I obviously still think she's a talented artist especially when she lets her storytelling speak for itself and pulls back on the self narrativizing, but also I've always struggled with the white feminism of it all and this album feels especially mean girl, too?
