I'm still not sure that this will make them profitable tbh. The basic problem (no customer wants to pay the actual costs of using the technology) is probably still there. Romantic investment won't help if the desired level of use would amount to literal thousands per month in costs

This was always my initial assumption as well, but especially the text-based versions of this have always had substantial female customer bases; I think it has a lot more to do with internet-driven alienation from conventional avenues to romance and eroticism

Oh yeah, hegemony is inevitable, but Africa could have absolutely gone a path somewhere between the New World and Asia: some colonies, but mainly economic influence; maybe something growing out of the trade relations Europe had already built in many places

I definitely think there's something to be mined in an Alternate History where the scramble for Africa never happens, and European colonies stay largely confined to the coasts of sub-saharan Africa

I think here you have to separate romantic success into "has healthy, long-standing relationships with their partners" and "how easy is it to pick up girls". A lot of manosphere-youths are primarily focused on the latter because it's what they struggle with (I assume you were focused on the former)

Thinking about it, I sorta don't buy that money is anything but a negligible factor. The logic you laid out makes sense, but empirically, I'm utterly unaware of any cases or realistic scenarios where someone's poverty is a significant factor in them not having romantic success

Absolutely true, probably not that helpful IMO given that that is both true of pretty much everything you could possibly do, and from a strategic perspective, "you're too poor to do this thing you've been told is your birthright" is not a good way to DEradicalize someone
