This is my second go with Bluesky, I deleted my first account a year ago or so.

I’m not super interested in big accounts with thousands+ of followers, with a few exceptions.

I’m more interested in the little accounts like my own. People just living their lives and expressing that as best they can.

Next book read. Utterly dark and nightmarish. Clever, but not something I would recommend lightly.
Book, Time’s Arrow, by Martin Amis

1) I was unfamiliar with this 1919 footage, and it is quite something.

2) I wonder about preservation of knowledge about the destruction of Gaza. The world found it all to easy to ignore the plight of the Palestinians during this conflict, will the witness to its demise be preserved as it should?

1/2. I watched 'En dirigeable sur les champs de bataille' (1919) for the first time a few years ago. These are just short extracts from the 72 min film, recording the destruction across northern France that took place during WW1. The horror of watching it is overwhelming.

Toolbox is a very pampered cat.
Black and white tuxedo cat sandwiched between a gray blanket and a brown blanket, looking very content.

Late 1970s souvenir relic of West German capitalism, a study.

Empty and key long gone.
A toy bank decorated with a little dog wearing a hat amidst many flowers. Text on bank reads “Wenn’s um Geld geht.”

A song from the Nixon era speaking truth to the Trump era (capping possibly the greatest album ever):

Espresso and drizzly rain on my porch, pretty relaxing.
Selfie of middle aged man wearing glasses and a plaid flannel shirt, sitting on a porch and drinking from an espresso cup, blue.

Putting the lazy in Caturday.
Toolbox the tuxedo cat snuggling in a beige blanket and yawning.

I think that my initial reaction is just gratitude for reading these texts of such beautiful humanity.

Two books recently finished, both intriguing and rewarding.

Maybe a strange duo and wildly different in style, they share adept description of liminal landscapes and material cultures, both written by women though in very different times, both possess gentle but incisive insight into human life.
Two books, The Summer Book by Tove Jansson and Shadows on the Rock by Willa Cather

Ate some hummus and pita for lunch, but realized what I craved was falafel, like the falafel sandwiches I used to get on the street in Jordan many years ago.

So, recommend me your selection for best falafel mix … ?

Working from home, my it's-Friday-but-it's-not-yet-five face.
