They’re running Under Milk Wood as originally broadcast, for the first time, this weekend on R4 Extra. Obviously, it’s brilliant. And I highly recommend a listen. It still sounds amazing; truly timeless. The most dated bit is the credits - but, oh, those character names.

Train Dreams review — Felicity Jones leads an unforgettable frontier drama

The story, adapted from the novella by Denis Johnson, has a fable-like quality that’s immediately enhanced by the dry, gnomic narration of Will Patton.

The Oxfam bookshop on Glasgow’s Byres Road moved, recently, to a new location further down the hill – but I’m very pleased that they managed to take Alasdair Gray’s mural with them! I think he did this when on a break from painting the ceiling in Òran Mór …

Happy to see that Thom has entered his Bob Dylan era, channeling the spirit of quixotic line deliveries, vocalisations and generally mixing up the medicine on Radiohead's The Bends.

Vital piece of investigative reporting from Sky. They've uncovered the X algorithm which feeds users extremist right wing material from the moment they join the site. It is a far-right radicalisation engine, by design.

I love it when my obsessions collide in unexpected ways! For example, I was delighted when I discovered that Stef Gardiner one half of the wonderfully irreverent late night 90s Channel 4 film review show, Vidz, also was Alasdair Gray's last assistant!
