On Friday, two federal judges ruled that the Trump administration must use contingency funds to keep SNAP up and running.

However, there will likely be delays in distribution, and food banks will still need our help in the interim.

12% of UP households participate in SNAP. That's more than 1 in 10 households facing hunger in 2 days due to the Trump SNAP cut off.

Meanwhile the Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly UP is having their annual Food Drive. Other food banks need help too. More on that in another post.

As of Nov 1st, tRump "has chosen not to issue food-aid benefits under one of the nation’s largest anti-hunger programs." The USDA has a $5 billion emergency fund that could have covered roughly 2/3 of the Nov shortfall; Republicans have chosen not to utilize it."

Food bank director, Jill Dixon explains that for every meal a food bank provides the SNAP program provides nine. If Republicans don’t negotiate with Democrats to keep SNAP benefits going after the Nov 1 deadline, Americans are going to starve. This is just cruel and vile ‼️

"America First" has a positive meaning when Americans put other Americans first. Feeding our hungry, caring for our sick, etc. NOT stopping SNAP $$ in a shutdown, forcing Americans into hunger while sending billions to your buddy in Argentina. That is NOT "America First".

You can tell a lot about a person by their priorities. Trump's priorities are NOT:

Inflation, or Affordable Healthcare (plan costs in some cases up 4x), or even the Government Shutdown.

Bottom Line: Trump's priorities are NOT ABOUT YOU. They are ALL ABOUT HIM. At least, that's what Karoline says.
