Fuck yeah! I’ve not listened to this yet but I’m starting ASAP. The Co-Ghosts once achieved the greatest accomplishment in human history (full stop) with their 9-hour review of every Halloween film. But it looks like this may vastly exceed that feat.

I watched this movie last night. It was a true treat! It's a film that's made to imitate a local access news broadcast from 1987 and it really nails it.

Thanks to the eternally haunted @horrorvanguard.bsky.social for turning me on to this one.

This remind me of a great quote @laborkyle.bsky.social on @horrorvanguard.bsky.social

"Medieval peasants would not be overawed by AI. They would recognize exactly what the right thing to do is: beat it to death with hammers and bury it on opposite sides of a river so it can never resurrect itself"
For decades, Stan Lee was the king of comic conventions. Now, nearly seven years after his death at the age of 95, he will once again be a presence at L.A. Comic Con, this time as a hologram that will use AI to have conversations with fans.

One of my personal top five episodes of @horrorvanguard.bsky.social covers this film: podbay.fm/p/horror-van...
Mel was a guest way back on episode 99 where we talked about everyone favorite bisexual awakening: The Mummy.

Asking for funding is a wildly uncomfortable experience but we gotta do it: this newsletter is reader-funded, and I've got some goals I need your help to accomplish. This month, I'm hoping to reach 50 paid subs to the newsletter.

If I reach 1000 by end of 2026, I'll fly to you and fight your boss👊

Yes, I keep suggesting incredibly bleak horror movies on @horrorvanguard.bsky.social but this episode is just proof that whatever horror movie @scumbelievable.bsky.social recommends YOU SHOULD WATCH

I continue to be bad at promoting work, but got to say., the last few @horrorvanguard.bsky.social episodes I've got to do with @laborkyle.bsky.social have been really good stuff.

And, like, John and Kyle just do a phenomenal job here of talking through the depth and intricacy of Coogler's depiction of the South in Sinners, with special attention to race and class depictions.

If anything, it makes me more desperate to wish that Coogler would take on All the King's Men.
