I'm talking about the members of Congress who voted for the tax cuts. Their kids -- Boomers born in the 40s and 50s -- benefited from the deductions, but those of us born after 1959 or so, we were screwed over by the Clinton/Bush/Trump age cohort. They got theirs and we were told to go pound sand.

Yeah. They waited till I graduated from college in December 1985, then they removed the tax deduction on car loan and student loan interest, starting Jan. 1, 1986, just before I bought a car and started my student loan payments.
Loopholes? Or Boomers pulling up the ladder after they climbed it?

Huh. You're right. This is one of those "they're saying" things.

Auto repossessions and credit card delinquencies are skyrocketing. People are forced to choose groceries over car payments. Like you, I'm financially comfortable. A lot of people aren't.
