Yes water cooling for eg work places increasingly common.
Heat pumps are air conditioning (reverse cycle :-) Every one shutters their apartments in daytime, in addition to fans. Many buildings have passive cooling systems/pumped water systems (Swiss cities are often beside lakes and rivers). We need to think long term about efficient cooling systems.
Agreed. And plenty of lived experience of Geneva heat. But concerned that the jump is made to air con as ‘the solution’ to cooling without considering other less energy intensive options. Also air con is not allowed in Switzerland….
What about ceiling fans? They worked well for me in Geneva.

Ooo that looks fabulous!
Some good news for your feeds! Thank you @helenczerski.bsky.social
The news has been more than a bit grim of late, so hooray for @carbonbrief.org providing some genuine and really meaningful **good** news: the UK's carbon emissions in 2024 were the lowest since 1872, because demand for fossil fuels just keeps decreasing.

Great to see #TuringInstitute #ChiefScientist Mark Girolami visiting the @metoffice.bsky.social to discuss our growing collaboration in applying data sciences to weather and climate prediction #Turing2.0
Loving the views and vibe at the @metoffice.bsky.social - it feels like a building where important things are happening. It’s interesting how architecture can influence and inspire how we work…!

Thank you Mike! Hope we will still have opportunities to collaborate:-)
