Tonight's movie was "THE BLACK PHONE". I heard almost unanimous praise for it, and I'd been wanting to see it for a long time. I'm glad I finally did. It was excellent. I don't know that it needed a sequel, but I'll find out tomorrow if that's any good.

The #inktober prompt for today was "BLAST", so I drew the first thing that came to mind...the ki blast clash between Son Goku and Vegeta, back in the early days of #DragonBallZ. I feel like I redrew that whole page when I was in middle school. I'll have to look through my boxes.
I'm still really bummed that Tony Todd died. He always brought the movies he was in up. The dude had great screen presence, and could be quite imposing. For my money, he was never more imposing than in "CANDYMAN", which is what I'll be watching tonight. I fucking love this movie.

"RIVALS" was today's #inktober prompt, and when I think of rivals, I think of Zoro and Sanji from #OnePiece. They bicker and beat the shit out of each other, but are also there for each other in a pinch...with an insult or back-handed compliment, naturally.
It's time for another favorite of mine—the original "NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET". I won't be watching any of the sequels this year, though I may watch the remake, which I never bothered with. This movie has one of my all-time favorite creepy movie scenes, dealing with a bodybag in a highschool hallway.

Today's #inktober prompt was "ARCTIC", and when I think of the Arctic, the first thing that comes to mind is always polar bears, so that's what I attempted to draw. I'm happy with the way this turned out, but I apologize for my chicken scratch. If you can read it, a round of applause to you!
Tonight, I'm watching a favorite: Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's throwback double-feature "GRINDHOUSE". I usually watch the extended versions of each movie on their own around this time of year, but I felt like reliving the theatrical experience this time.

"DEAL" was today's #inktober prompt, so I thought "cards...but why?", then I decided the why was Gambit. If you didn't know, Gambit, who I--very poorly--drew here, is an #XMen character. He charges small objects with kinetic energy, and throws them exploding them. Usually playing cards.
As I said yesterday, though there are more, I'm done with the "HOWLING" movies. The first two are pretty good, but the next three weren't good enough to watch another. So, I'm getting the bad taste they left out of my mouth with my favorite werewolf move--"AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON".

The #inktober prompt for today was "ORNATE", so I drew a chonky loaf cat wearing an ornate crown. The only authority I recognize is chonky loaf cats. Nothing else.
"HOWLING" 4 wasn't quite as bad as the third one, but not nearly as good as the first two. So, no matter what I think of this one, I'm bowing out of these goddamn werewolf flicks tomorrow and watching a much better one.

Today's #inktober prompt was "BLUNDER", which immediately made me think of someone (Joker?) calling Robin "the boy blunder" on the old Batman cartoon, so I drew...this thing. Batman's really scraping the bottom of the barrel, but I guess an orphan is an orphan. Is he hungry or stupid? You decide!
So, last night's movie was trash. It was kind of funny at time, but mostly just bad. Tonight, I somewhat begrudgingly continue with the "HOWLING" movies, and will be watching the fourth one. If this one's any worse than the last one, I'm gonna have to move on to something else. Life's too short!

Almost forgot to post today's #inktober! The prompt was "RAGGED", and the first thing that came to mind was to draw a mangy (but happy) street dog. He's been through some shit, but he's still kicking! It's okay to pet him. He may look rough, but he's very gentle and good with humans.

Night of the Living Dead
The Thing
A Nightmare on Elm Street
Quote this with the first four Horror movies that come to your mind that are 10/10s for you. No cheating. Just the first four that pop into your head.

I'll go first:
-Silence of the Lambs
-I Saw the Devil
-Coherence
-Jaws
Tonight, "HOWLING III: THE MARSUPIALS". Number two was pretty good, in that "holy fuck this is some stringy cheese" kind of way, but I like that stuff. I also really liked the new wave-y songs that the band kept playing. We'll see how this one stacks up!

Drew Struzan posters you might not see others post today... rest in peace, king.
A little late with my #inktober entry for the day. The prompt was "TRUNK", so here is an elephant--with emphasis on its trunk!

After watching for a bit, I realized I HAD, seen the original "HOWLING". I remembered watching it at a friend's apartment my first Halloween in NC. His mom got mad because there was nudity, and she was strictly religious. Not like werewolf boobs are gonna damn anyone. Anyway, on to the second one!

The #inktober prompt for today was "DRINK", so I botched up this drawing of my favorite manga drunkard, #RoronoaZoro, from #OnePiece. Apologies to Eiichiro Oda for massacring his character.
Did he just say 'making fuck'?
After some thought, I realized I don't think I've ever seen any of the "HOWLING" movies (or, if I have, it was so long ago I don't remember). So, I'm gonna try to watch them all! I'm sure that, as with any other franchise, they'll get worse each time, so I doubt I'll get to them all. Wish me luck!

I've finally upgraded to PS5, and just in time to get #AlanWake2 (no spoilers, please) for free. I've wanted to play this one quite badly (especially after my brother who doesn't even like horror games sung its praises), and it's already delivering.

Here's a shot I took in its photo mode. #PS5Share
