We’re losing a giant but you should follow Tim’s work wherever he goes 🤍🤍
1. Friends, I have a major career update. And it is bittersweet.

My time at Rolling Stone is coming to a close this week.
Was just looking for audio from my interview…. and found Neil Peart interview audio instead since I talked to them in the same two-week period. Just brutal.
I’m sorry but I don’t believe you.
Fair enough, but that’s unusual. In published writing for instance, the style has always been to include spaces.
Another tip-off is the headers. Humans don’t use those kind of headers; LLMs do.
As a helpful tip for the future, people know AI generates those kind of sentences – “it’s not this – it’s that” – with comical regularity. AI also uses em-dashes without putting spaces on either side. I immediately caught those in the piece.
So to be clear, you categorically deny using AI to help you write that piece?
I don’t think it’s possible to form a coalition with people who think it’s a good use of their time to protest Kamala Harris’s book tour
This reads very much like Ai writing to me. “What’s happening online isn’t discourse—it’s diagnosis.”
Just a glimpse of the current delights on X

I don’t know who needs to hear this but the CDC is being eviscerated right now. America is not going to have any kind of outbreak response capacity after tonight. Americans’ health data is no longer secure. Say goodbye to federal public health in any capacity. It’s a disaster. We won’t recover.

The elimination of USAID is a moral atrocity and all involved made a choice to enable, and then lie about, ending the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in the world.
MAE SOT, Thailand (AP) - Mohammed Taher clutched the lifeless body of his 2-year-old son and wept. Ever since his family's food rations stopped arriving at their internment camp in Myanmar in April, the father had watched helplessly as his once-vibrant baby boy weakened, suffering from diarrhea and begging for food.
On May 21, exactly two weeks after Taher's little boy died, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio sat before Congress and declared: "No one has died" because of his government's decision to gut its foreign aid program. Rubio also insisted: "No children are dying on my watch."
That, Taher says, "is a lie."
No to be clear I did too!
Thanks. We do have a rule about not honoring so-called “vanity capitalization” alas
