Halfway through the episode, and digging it as usual. Listened to Keepers of the Eastern For this morning, and it's great.
Plein air painting at the lighthouse in Madisonville last night. I painted a diptych.

My paintings hanging in Far Horizons Gallery in Folsom, LA. (The 5 framed paintings.)
Last night's plein air painting in Fairview State Park. Set up where we couldn’t actually see the sun setting, so caught the golden light hitting the cypress trees.

The kids around me were the most interested spectators. They were very a very sweet audience.
S and I took E and 2 of her college friends to Bacchus last night. While they enjoyed the parade, I did first ever live Mardi Gras painting.

You left out golf. Lots and lots of golf.
Tchefuncte River Bank - Moonrise, 14" x 18"

It was a much chillier night than I expected. I'm pretty sure it was summer outside just a couple days ago. Glad the clouds cleared and we got a beautiful moonrise tonight.
A lovely Sunday morning paint out.

I wanted to thank Mandeville Artists Guild for selecting me as February's Artist of the Month for Mandeville. My paintings will be hanging for all of February in Mandeville City Hall. Please pass by and check them out.
I did not get out to paint today, but I have been doing some canvas prep. I always start my paintings with an imprimatura. Generally orange for day paintings and dark blue/purple for nocturnes.

I find starting on white makes it much harder to judge values and colors.

2025 is off to a great start. I painted nocturnes, I painted a snowstorm in south Louisiana, and I painted with my Sunday morning painting class. I hope everyone's year is starting off with momentum that we can all carry through the year.
Here are my January paintings.
Lovely night painting with my buddy yesterday. We set up on Water St. in Madisonville, and painted the Abita Roasting Company.

An absolute masterpiece. So much fun.
And my painting of the snow looking up my street after I finished my work day. Fingers and toes were getting numb standing in the street painting.
