Hello! My name is Hero King Cosplay, and I've been cosplaying since 2009. My favorite fandoms are Fire Emblem, Bayonetta, Resident Evil, and Zelda. I'll be documenting my future project builds here. ✨️
Debuted Louise at Momocon this past weekend and absolutely love how she turned out!! I love being Fire Emblem Barbie.
One finished pair of silly long johns later.... and Countess Reglay is finished!
Rigging the armor with D-Rings, nylon webbing, and a parachute buckle in the back. Miss Louise is almost real!!
I also have boot covers sort of started, but I'm scrapping this one and starting over with a new fabric that has 4 way stretch. Don't use 2 way stretch for boot covers unless you hate yourself. It can be done, but it makes the entire process so much more miserable than it has to be.
I think I cooked with the freehand armor decorations?? Very excited to try the breastplate and pauldron on once I make their harness. Everything here is foam sandwiched in worbla.
Did you know you can hide seam crimes by slapping a super thin layer of EVA foam over your armor? If you didn't, run don't walk to read Beverly Downen's incredible foam for cosplay book
Cape was a pain in the ass to cut since it is basically a circle skirt, but the suffering was worth it. The piece that looks like a hood is actually just an infinity scarf attached with snaps. Shout out to Lutavia Cosplay for hooking me up with the gold trim!
Quiver cover. I'm reusing Leonie's quiver as a base, but I wanted to be able to easily switch it back for both cosplays. The cover slides right off, nothing is glued down. 😊
Trim time!! I bought this trim from Pacific Trimming in NYC. The colors couldn't have been a more perfect match for Louise! Also made some bias tape to finish off the raw sleeve edges.
Cutting into expensive fabric scary, but I LOVE how the bodice turned out. Need to tweak the skirt to make it a smidge more fitted, but overall pretty happy with how she's looking! Bonus helper cat and modesty shorts because my dumpy is too powerful.
Mockups for mini skirt and bodice. I used the Ella's Basic Mini Skirt with Splits pattern by AtTheSeamsPatterns and Indigo Jinjo's modular princess seam block. The skirt pattern is designed for non stretch fabrics, but my fashion fabric is stretch, so I practiced by flatlining my mockup too.
She's giving ✨️Fabio✨️

Glove! The white one was purchased premade, but tbh it gives drum major instead of ara ara sexy lady, so I have learning to sew gusseted gloves in my future
Pretty fabrics fit for a noble lady! I ended up not using the white and gold fabrics pictured, but all of the others made the cut. Sources in alt text.
Started with the cape brooch because my heart wanted to play with beads. Freehanded a pattern from felt stitched to organza. Embellishments are beads, goldwork, and sequins. Scariest part was setting the edge on fire to melt the organza away.
It's my favorite game's 22nd anniversary, so I'm celebrating with a Louise build thread!

Want to know some secret lore? There are no full body pics from this shoot because I dropped falchion at a con the previous year. I was holding a broken sword at 2am trying to get a shitpost ready in time for the FE1 anniversary edition release back in 2020. 🤡
tysm!! I still have some upgrades left to finish for her that will hopefully happen this year 🤞 then I can finally book the fancy photoshoot she deserves
