They’re going to keep celebrating a country known for violating ceasefires for signing a ceasefire, while subtlety taking shots at the people being exterminated as if they hadn’t want peace to begin with.

This is about positioning Israel and Palestine as equal in power and minimises a struggle against a violent colonising oppressor as petty disagreement.

Part of the ongoing dehumanising narrative here is that Palestinians care less for their children/families than others - that they’ll happily use them as ideological and physical shields.

This facilitates Israel targeting them.

The disparity is so blatant because they’re confident in the extent to how they’ve dehumanised Palestinians and that they can police dissent.

Settler colonial countries will strategically mourn a single death and grandstand on non-violence while they kill multiple Palestinians daily.

It’s partly to rationalise escalating their own violence, but also basic dehumanisation - to force you to weigh some lives differently.

I think the argument of ‘separating art from artist’ that people used so they didn’t need to reflect on art from abusers, fascists and bigots set us up for AI generated art.

They were functionally arguing that art didn’t need context which turned art into faceless product.
