I brought cat like features into the dragons design in a few places, as well as giving it a blend of fur and scale.

I thought for the design I'd go with paper scrolls, stacks and shapes all jutting out in varying directions, as well as large paper sheets for the wings. This one is done in watercolors in only two colors. #smaugust #dragon #watercolor

Mycena subcyanocephala dragon, painted in watercolors for my mushroom dragon art series which I'm steadily building up.

Here's my Madagascan Sunset Moth dragon, painted in watercolors with some prismacolor pencil details from last year. I'm glad I built up the darker areas slowly with layers of color instead of just flat, I still feel happy with the result of this.
