Asda local to me is having a rolling refurb that involves moving products multiple times to locations which are sometimes from one side of the shop to the other. I've never seen so many lost-looking people.

Thousands of miles of disused railways, canal towpaths, and green spaces lie blocked off or forgotten across the UK.

@TimFarron.bsky.social explains the Lib Dem plan to reopen them, creating a national network of green routes for all.

The Chipsy King, Morecambe - a reference to local resident Tyson Fury, who is known as the Gypsy King.
Is there a shop with a pun in its name local to you?

I think Simon Jenkins is in a category of his own, and it's unfair to lump all opinion writers in with him.

Yes. I was disappointed to see that the Grand Départ 2027/British Cycling is using X www.letourgb.com.
If you're not a far right agitator, there's no reason to be there.

Most important point: 'Local authorities should first and foremost focus on bicycle infrastructure such as bicycle lanes'.
I'm sure @ategov.bsky.social are doing lots of good work BUT it is not resulting in any cycle tracks in North Yorkshire. None. Please find a way to do better.

Other unsurprising points in this report:
*cycling produces no GHG emissions, reduces air pollution and congestion, and is good for people
*bicycle lanes must be separated from pavements, and form a continuous network
*restrictions on motor vehicles are the 2nd most effective way to get more cycling

Bicycle lanes key to remarkable Paris cycling boom hedgehogcycling.co.uk/wp/2025/10/1...
Admittedly, this could be filed under 'who'd 'ave thunk it'.

Climate action is the only economic growth story of 21st century, says leading economist Lord Stern

- Fossil-fuelled growth is futile as the damage it causes ends in economic self-destruction

I guess it depends if you like Pogacar.
Either way, it is definitely boring.
hedgehogcycling.bsky.social
He does make races very dull though.
hedgehogcycling.bsky.social
It's not about you.
But yes, Pogacar winning everything easily is dull as dishwater.

Increasing capacity for motor vehicles generates more motor vehicle traffic and fails to tackle congestion.

The statistics also don't show who was at fault.

I was talking about the contemptuous statements about nature from senior Labour ministers, not anything you said.
hedgehogcycling.bsky.social
There is no need for the contemptuous statements they continually make about the natural world. Building more houses, fine, building at the cost of the destruction of what's left of the nature in the UK, not fine.

Although it's a joke, I genuinely think it's a good idea in many ways.
hedgehogcycling.bsky.social
I guess it comes from not wanting to allocate space to cycling. You could have a cycle track leading to a waiting area, but it would mean taking space from motor vehicles.
hedgehogcycling.bsky.social
That one is so narrow I doubt you could use it to filter if there were stationary vehicles either side.

This is the Ugly: a narrow, painted cycle lane in between two traffic lanes on the approach to a busy junction. How would you redesign this? 3/3
