Even if intentional, this *may* not be related to the larger rhetoric against science, or political.

But you cannot deny, that when violent rhetoric becomes more accepted in mainstream sentiment - it encourages previously guarded violent tendencies to come out of their shadows. #ScienceSky

The last day of ADHD Awareness Month...

The month where I mostly forgot to share much about ADHD at all...
In my, very personal experience with #ADHD

The emotional dysregulation is far worse than the memory fails

The burnout from trying too hard is far worse than the attention dysfunction

The damage to self esteem is far worse than the ADHD disorder itself.
What's funny is I never read romances in my teens and 20s... I was a mega cynic then, because of the relationships around me. Science fiction was it. How the turntables 😆
I wholly get it. My partner is probably the single biggest reason my hope for humanity and relationships remains bright. So its a very personal thing
I got into a reading block after having such a rich September... and I usually binge on a few Romances to get me out of that slump. Romances are also a major source of comfort during an ADHD burnout.

I think these did it for me. #BookSky
"That's what I learned from them - it's not safe to be different."....“I pushed you to change because I wanted you to be safe. Do you understand?”

As a South Asian ADHDer, this book hit me hard.

"I cry for the girl I used to be. I cry for me." #BookSky #CulturalStigmas #Neurodivergence
The fact that everything else is so alarming that my ADHD seems quite alright 😭
Bless the heart of every romance novel that still glamorizes old fashioned relationships built from in-person conflict/enmity/working/problem solving/fighting/competing/surviving/drooling together/...

While real life folks have to get through the ick of swiping bodies online #BookSky 📚
Isn't it galling that the procedures most demonized - #mammograms, #c-sections, #hormone meds, etc.,

Are the ones most essential to AFAB & #women?

I don't see as much demonizing of prostate exams & ED meds at all 👀

Ofc, if its something everyone needs though, like depression meds, it's fair game
Imagine carrying so much insanity as a nation that the impending Govt #shutdown is low on the priority of freakouts for people
My real, abject, fear: that no incompetence was involved
Almost all of the traditional outlets failed to mention the death of Trey Reed, the orders to remove The Scourged Back painting, or the role of the Indigenous tribes of The Everglades in shutting down the glorified detainment camp there.

Events I learned following more Black & Indigenous accounts
I can't believe I'm in a reality where the 310th m@ss shooting of 2025, at a school in Colorado today is given the backseat to the death of one social media personality

High schoolers were shot, people
"I was spanked/beaten/screamed at/ as a child and I turned out fine"

Purely anecdotal - but anyone who has said this to me, has had challenges with relationships, being adaptable, parent(s), or emotional regulation

They are decidedly, *not* fine #Parenting #MentalHealth
Yes the reading level is very simple, but the themes and social issues are not
but I don't know if younger readers are getting all that the author intends

YA fiction is the most fascinating category to me...

They seem to deal with the human condition, with more clarity and nuance than some of the adult novels in the same categories.

Maybe because older readers just want to escape the real world while younger readers want to understand it #BookSky📚
"Why did I come here?"
"What should I do again?"
"Why am I standing here?"
"What was I saying?"
"Where am I going?"
"Did you ask me for something this morning?"

Just a few daily questions for my husband that keep our marriage alive

To paraphrase the book - no amount of medical innovations can hide the undeniable fact that we have not dominated bacteria at all

"Bacteria will be here when the sun explodes. If we exist, it's because they let us"

- A Short History of Everything by Bill Bryson

The way this hit too close phew!

What got me was what most reviews complained about - the heroine's piling lies in the workplace.

Lies born from experiencing prejudice, anxiety, chronic people pleasing, imposter syndrome, fear, & the baggage of our past.

Trust me, that was too real #BookSky
I don't care how Common it is, the Cold sucks balls

The timing of this shrimp news after this post of mine from two days ago is eery, to say the least

Let me just say - I'm neither morally deficient, nor morally superior, because of my ADHD

I have to mess up, 'fess up, and grow up, just like everybody else. One flub at a time.

The only sensitivities I was born with were screeching chalk, scraping utensils, and flyaway hairs on my neck
