Lots of detailed inline commenting leading to inline recommendations, then review, fix, commit.

I guess the natural next step there is to move from comments to tests.

Risks circle back. Decisions move forward.

The small shift that made product work calmer (and faster):
Stop Logging Risks. Start Driving Decisions.

I’m not impressed by an app very often, but honestly the Merlin Bird ID app is amazing.

Uses your phone microphone to hear and flash up info for birds nearby.

It’s free. It’s works really well. It keeps children entertained in a similar way to Pokémon catching.

Highly recommended.

TIL your ear hears differently.

The brain processes sounds from each ear in slightly different ways.

The right ear is often better at picking up speech and rhythm, while the left is more attuned to music and tone.

A small reflection of the way a brain’s hemispheres specialise.

Wait until they hear about rotary dial phones. I still have flashbacks to using one to get through to a busy number.

If anyone needs me I will be in the museum, lying down next to the bog bodies.
Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?
2? Questions
I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

This is my trick for keeping on top of my emails.
I have a placeholder that I try to clear above most weekdays.
I don't achieve it every day, but it's a marker to aim for.
Clear to here daily. This emails should be top before the end of each day. To get here you can action things above, reschedule, or covert to actions.

One day it’s the same message via 5 channels, the next it’s sent via one but missing key details.

Chrome browser has a new 'read page aloud' features.

So naturally I tested it on the welcome page which highlights this new feature.

It announced: "Have Chrome red pages aloud".

Red, not read. Hoisted with it's own petard.

I enjoyed (it's 45 mins though) listening to this. An interesting take on it all... "Will Reform win the next general election" - Gary Stevenson. Lots of talk of parties throwing it away, and potential for the Greens.

I asked for the source of the quote.

> Oh, well, it looks like they never really said that, but it looks good based on all the other evidence right?

It did. It had built a case and then put the icing on the cake with a fake quote.
