As someone who got hit hard and was ironically in a similar kind of professional position, I’m only talking about human impact. Macroeconomics are not my wheelhouse.

In human impact, as much as I want this banner to fall, I know people will get hit as it does so.

My experience varies. I know people fired and then either rehired part time to clean up GenAI mess or still unemployed after having a GPT start doing their job with mixed results. Likewise, people harmed by deepfakes & misinformation, let alone the data center damage in Memphis.

Friday I did a networking cohort with reps from a few Fortune 500 companies who say their CEOs are demanding they add AI to their work stat. Not what it will do, not how it will help, just to do it.

It made me so exhausted.

My daughter asked if I wanted to go, and I hadn’t even considered it. I was literally just gonna wait for it to be on streaming. Even with Jodie Turner-Smith, who I adore.
